The OV1-13 spacecraft was placed into a polar orbit to study energetic particle phenomena along its orbit. The spacecraft was spin-stabilized, with a spin period of about 7.5 s and a spin axis direction normal to the orbit plane. The spacecraft provided useful data from its launch until November 3, 1969.
