NSSDCA/COSPAR ID: 1973-082A
The main scientific objective of this satellite was to study magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling. The spin rate of the satellite was less than or equal to one revolution every 5 min. Data were transmitted both in real-time and in tape-recorder mode. The scientific experiments on board the satellite included measurements of electric and magnetic field fluctuations, low-energy particle fluxes, plasma concentration and temperature, and VLF emissions.
