Description

Soyuz 16 was a Soviet manned mission launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Soyuz rocket. The flight crew, Filipchenko and Rukavishnikov, performed checking of the onboard systems which had been modernized to meet the requirements of the 1975 joint Apollo-Soyuz Test Program (ASTP). It was recovered December 8, 1974, at 8:04 GMT, 30 km NE of Arkalyk.
