Description

Raduga 2 was a Soviet communications satellite launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard a Proton 8K82K/Block DM rocket. Also known as Statsionar 1, it provided uninterrupted round the clock telephone and telegraph radiocommunications in the USSR and simultaneous transmission of color and black-and-white USSR central television programs to stations in the Orbita network.
