Description

RCA-SATCOM 3R was the fourth in a series of RCA-GLOBCOM commercial communications satellites launched into a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Cape Canaveral. The Delta rocket performed nominally, placing the spacecraft and its apogee boost motor (ABM) into the desired transfer orbit that permitted the propulsion systems to meet the mission's objectives.
