Rohini 3 was the third Indian national launch on April 17th 1983. It was launched using a SLV-3 rocket from the Sriharikota Space Center in the Bengal Bay, into a 388 x 852km orbit. It was spherical in shape with a diameter of 0.65m. It weighed 42kg and carried a two camera sensor payload with L-band beacon for conducting remote-sensing experiments and for accurate orbit and attitude determination.
