Description

Cosmos 1612 was a Soviet meteorological satelllite launched from the Plesetsk cosmdrome aboard a Tsyklon 3 rocket. It was the first launch of new Meteor-3 spacecraft. It was placed in an unusable orbit when the rocket's third stage failed to reignite.
