Plasma Diagnostic Package (PDP)

The Plasma Diagnostic Package (PDP) was deployed by the STS 51-F shuttle mission and retrieved 6 hours later. As a free flyer, this instrument has its own identification as a separate satellite. However, because this instrument was also operated while still attached to the shuttle, it is also identified as one of the instruments on board the shuttle, with ID of 85-063A-03. Under that ID the instrument is desribed, and data obtained during all modes of operation are included in the data sets shown under that ID, namely 85-063A-03A and 85-063A-03B.
