Description

Cosmos 1766 was a Soviet oceanographic satellite launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome aboard a Tsyklon rocket. It acquired operational oceanographic information in the interests of various branches of the nation economy of the USSR and international cooperation. It continued trials of new types of informational and measurement apparatus and methods of remote sensing of the earth's surface and atmosphere.
