Cosmos 1870

Description

Cosmos 1870 was a Soviet radarsat launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Proton rocket. It was the first flight of Almaz radarsat taken out of mothballs after the death of Dmitri Ustinov, the Communist Party Central Committee Secretary for Defense. The satellite returned images of 10 to 15 meter resolution through 29 July 1989.
