Description

Cosmos 1987 was a Soviet military communications satellite launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Proton K rocket. It was placed in a geosynchronous orbit at 95 deg E. It carried scientific instruments for continuing space research and experimental equipment for retransmitting telephone and telegraph information in the centimeter wave band.
