Cosmos 2348 was a Russian military photo reconnaissance spacecraft in the Yantar-4K class ("Kobalt") subseries, a fourth generation close-look photo reconnaissance satellite. It carried a main descent module and two smaller externally mounted data return capsules which could be ejected and returned to Earth while the main payload remained in orbit. The main vehicle returned the camera system at the end of the mission, typically 2-3 months.
