Sesat (Siberia-Europe Satellite) was an European-Russian geostationary communications spacecraft that was launched by a Proton rocket from Baikonur at 21:06 UT. The 2,400 kg, 5.6 kW spacecraft will provide high-speed internet access, high-volume data transmission, video broadcasting to support corporate networks, and messaging and positioning services to mobile users through its 18 Ku-band transponders after parking over 48 deg-E longitude.
