Galaxy 4R was an American (PanAmSAT Corporation) geosynchronous communications spacecraft that was launched by an Ariane 42L rocket from Kourou at 00:29 UT. The 2,216 kg, 8.8 kW spacecraft will transmit television and internet signals from/to all parts of the United States, through its 24 C-band and 24 Ku-band transponders after parking over 99 deg-W longitude.
