Fengyun 2B



Fengyun 2 was a Chinese (PRC) geosynchronous meteorological spacecraft that was launched by a Long March 3 rocket from Xichang launch center in Sichuan province at 11:50 UT. (There was another Fengyun 2 launched in 1997, and two Fengyun 1 launched in 1988 and 1990.) It was equipped with a scanning radiometer, a cloud mapper, and a water vapor scanner to provide timely weather data, after parking over 105 deg-E longitude.
