LDREX (Large-scale Deployable Reflector EXperiment) is a Japanese experimental antenna dish that was launched by an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou at 00:26 UT. The reflector was to stay expanded to a diameter of 6 meters for about 20 min, after sliding out of a tubular container on the rocket. An on-board camera was to image and downlink the deployment process.
