Alsat 1 is an Algerian imaging minisatellite that was launched by a Kosmos-3M rocket from Plesetsk at 06:07 UT on 28 November 2002. The 90 kg satellite is part of an international Disaster Monitoring System (DMS) for alerting natural/man-made disasters.
