Innovation 1, also known as Chuangxin 1, is a Chinese (PRC) prototype of an advanced telecommunication satellite with potentials for environmental protection, oil and gas transportation, flood prevention and earthquake monitoring. The 100 kg satellite was launched by a Long March 4B rocket from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province on 21 October 2003.
