Echostar 17



Echostar 17 is a communications satellite. It will provide high-speed internet links and is to be stationed at 107.1 degrees West longitude. It carries sixty Ka band (NATO K band) transponders which will be used to cover North America. It was released from the launch vehicle at 22:03 UTC.

The satellite measures 8.0 m x 3.2 m x 3.1 m. The 26.07-m solar arrays were deployed after launch and will generate a minimum of 16.1 kW of power. The spacecraft had a mass at liftoff of 6,100 kg. It is expected to operate for fifteen years.
