ELMS 1

NSSDCA ID: ELMS-1
COSPAR ID:

Description

This spacecraft will be an independent, self-sustaining unit consisting of one experiment and its supporting systems. The 960-cu ft spacecraft will observe earth limb radiances and will have sufficient power to operate continuously over its planned 20-day lifetime. Since only about one-tenth of the spacecraft weight and volume will be attributed to the sensor, it appears that much of the spacecraft weight and volume will be occupied by the power supply, sensor cooling system, three-axis stabilization system, and telemetry.
