Team Miles

Team Miles is a 6U cubesat mission designed to travel further than any spacecraft of this small size has gone before. Team Miles uses plasma iodine thrusters that generate low-frequency electromagnetic waves as propulsion. It will travel about 60 million km from Earth on a trajectory towards Mars. The 6U cubesat is flown by a sophisticated onboard computer system. It will also test software for radio communications with Earth.

Team Miles launched as a secondary payload on the Artemis 1 mission on 16 November 2022. It was deployed but contact was not established with the spacecraft. Current status is unknown.
