Cosmos 66 was a first generation, low resolution Soviet surveillance satellite launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Vostok 2 rocket. The mission was unsuccessful because a parachute deployment failed and the spacecraft was destroyed in the subsequent crash.
