This satellite (AVL 802G), was a 2.13-m-diameter inflatable sphere constructed of wire mesh and a plastic skin. It was one of seven spherical research spacecraft ejected from OV1-21. The satellite was designed to gather aerodynamic data for use in the design and development of orbiting vehicles.
