Solidaridad 2 was a Mexican geostationary communications spacecraft launched by an Ariane 4 rocket from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana. The 1,670 kg, 2,500 watt spacecraft carried 18 transponders in C-band with a total of 35-channel capability in the C-, L-, and Ku-bands. It provided television, telecommunications, data, facsimile, and business network services to the Mexican republic, with sopt beams for the Caribbean, the southern US, and South America.
