Auburn University Moon Tree

Auburn, Alabama

[Auburn Moon Tree] [Auburn Moon Tree Plaque]

A loblolly pine was planted on 22 October 1976 in front of the G.W. Andrews Forestry Sciences Laboratory, Southern Research Station of the U.S. Forest Service, at Auburn University in Alabama. A moon sycamore was also planted but died. The lobloly pine subsequently died and was replaced with a long-leaf pine (pictured) which was not a Moon Tree, but the plaque is still in place.

(The blue device below the plaque is a GPS unit.)

The tree is located at 32 deg 35.166 min N; 85 deg 29.454 min W
