The South Pole Infrared Explorer (SPIREX) observed the fragment 
Q1 and Q2 impact sites rotating into view over Jupiter's limb at 
2.36 microns. Conditions at the pole at the times of impact were 
not good, with clouds coming in and out. The Q2 impact was not 
easily seen, due to confusion with older impact sites. Q1 (lower 
left) appeared at 3:20 p.m. Chicago time, and was bright as 
expected. 

The upper left frame was taken 20 July 1994 at 2:49 p.m. Chicago 
time. Subsequent frames are at approximately 5 minute intervals.
