These Saturn encounter data are on binary magnetic tape created on a UNIVAC 1108 computer. Each 1792-word physical block contains a 64-word file identification record, a 64-word transponder record, and 26 tracking data records. The file ID record identifies the tape and gives the time the tape was created. The transponder record contains the instrument on and off times (in year, day of year, hour, minute, and second of day); the network ID; station number; and transmitter type and frequency. Each tracking data record contains Doppler frequency, range, and tracking station information along with a record time tag and spacecraft, network, and station identification.
