Cluster II Level Zero Data, Raw Telemetry

NSSDCA ID: SPMS-00676

Availability: Proprietary Data - Contact Agent for More Information

Time span: 2000-08-22 to 2005-12-01

Description

This data set, obtained on a set of CD-ROMs, contains the raw telemetry data, or Level 0 data, for all eleven experiments on each of the four Cluster II spacecraft. These data are used by the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator groups to produce the Summary Parameters (1-minute resolution, one spacecraft) and the Prime Parameters (1-spin resolution, all four spacecraft) that are made available via NSSDC's CDAWeb on-line system at http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/cdaweb/ . Currently (December 2000) the Summary Parameters are publicly available, but the Prime Parameters are available from CDAWeb only on a password-protected basis.

This data set consists of many CD-ROMs, each of which contains multiple folders of files for each of the four Cluster II spacecraft. At the top level of the directory structure of each CD there is a folder for each of the four spacecraft, plus one for data descriptions, one for (orbit-related) software, and three others that list the data start/stop times (nominally one day) and status, and directory structure, filenames, and sizes. Within each spacecraft folder is a folder for each of the five different types of data available.

Each CD-ROM contains a full set of data format descriptions for the various data sets included. Other ancillary files are also included: housekeeping parameters, command history, spacecraft orbit/attitude, index of files, et cetera. Descriptions of the experiments themselves are not included.
