Radio Science Experiments

NSSDCA ID: 2005-029A-07

Mission Name: Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
Principal Investigators:Dr. Alexander S. Konopliv
Principal Investigators:Dr. Maria T. Zuber
Principal Investigators:Dr. Frank G. Lemoine

The Gravity Field Investigation on Mars Reconnnaissance Orbiter will use orbiter tracking data to refine maps of the martian gravity field. This will be used to study the geology of surface and near-surface features, the mass changes in the polar caps, and the mass distribution and dynamics of the martian interior.
