University of Arkansas Moon Tree

Monticello, Arkansas

A Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) was planted on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello on March 15, 1976 with a plaque. The tree is no longer alive, it became diseased and was taken down around 1994, when it was about 20 to 25 feet tall. The plaque was still at the site as of 2018, just off the main walkway through the center of the campus.
